Hualalai Golf Club
Hawaii's Big Island
Description
Dramatically situated in the black lava fields along the Big Island’s Kohala Coast, the Jack Nicklaus signature Hualalai Golf Course is both a world class challenge and an exhilarating land and seascape. The layout features strong par 3 holes including the signature 17th – a classic with a green that quite literally touches the sea, in sight of Maui’s Haleakala across the water (depending on the wind, club choices can range from an 8-iron to a 3-iron). The 18th is a striking par 4 with intimidating bunkers along the left side and surrounding the green.
The 7100-yard course hosts an annual, season-opening Champions’ Tour event and though its beautifully manicured fairways and greens are more than enough to challenge the legends, they’re also an agreeable test for golfers at all levels.
The Hualalai Golf Course is a semi-private course and is reserved exclusively for resort guests.
