SAMUEL SPENCER BEACH PARK, HAWAII'S BIG ISLAND
For a pleasant day at the beach, head to the northwestern Kohala Coast and spend the day at Samuel Spencer Beach Park. This is one of the most popular beaches on Hawaii's Big Island for families due to its large sandy beach, shaded grassy areas, and public facilities.
The beach is well protected by an outside reef, which allows for calm swimming and snorkeling waters on most days. The beach park has picnic pavilions, tables, and barbecue grills and is in walking distance of Puukohola Heiau National Historic Site. So pack a picnic and bring the family for a fun day at the beach.
