MVB International Division Coops with Airtours CMI Division
prepares for December Fam Tour
Headed by Director Tom Risko, MVB’s International Division recently cooped with Airtours, a tour operator in Germany, distributing Maui posters to 3,500 German agencies licensed to sell Airtour products. Risko’s division also printed new German and French language Maui brochures. These will to be distributed at tradeshows and seminars MVB participates in 2007 led by Hawaii Tourism Europe. In November, MVB will participate in the 2nd Annual Australia Down Under Fam Tour, in cooperation with Hawaii Tourism Oceania. Risko is also coordinating a CMI Maui Fam, in cooperation with HVCB, scheduled for early December. Meeting and incentive travel planners from the East Coast are being invited to the Hawaiian Islands.
Leisure Sales Division Takes to the Road Destination Maui
and VIA Events Target Travel Agents
Last month proved to be extremely busy for MVB’s Travel Sales Division. Under Director Chris Kaiaokamalie, MVB implemented its annual Destination Maui Seminars in the Midwest. Destiination Maui reached out to over 600 travel agents eager to discover "What's New in Maui Nui.” The events were sold oout in all 5 cities including Minneapolis, Oakbrook, Schamburg, Dallas and Houston. Also in July, MVB partnered with Happy Vacations and Liberty Travel promoting Maui Nui as a preferred travel destination. MVB targeted over 700 travel agents in New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts. In August, MVB will partner with Hawaiian Airlines and Travel Impressions implementing VIA events and sales calls in Las Vegas targeting the top 100 producing travel agents. Later in the month, MVB will participate in Virtuoso 2006 Conference & Marketplace in Las Vegas.
Public Relations Division Prepares for Annual Media Blitzes
Six Cities Targeted during Fourth Quarter
With Director Kelii Brown at the helm, MVB’s Public Relations and Promotions Division plans to take the Maui Nui message on the road this fall. In September, MVB visits Toronto and New York City. Come November, areas targeted include Boston, Chicago, Denver and Phoenix. MVB, along with various hotel and resort partners, will meet with the top writers and editors of numerous publications as well as freelance writers in each market. MVB is also partnering with STAR 94.1 Radio in San Diego continuing with much success with weekly winners announced through September. Promo partners include Hawaiian Airlines and Kaanapali Resorts. The promotion touts the Island of Maui, Kaanapali Resort and Hawaiian Airlines’ non-stop service between San Diego and Kahului.
