Travel Trade Department to Attend Luxury Travel Show
Over 3,000 luxury travel agents are expected to attend the the Luxury Travel Show in Las Vegas in early December. Director of Sales Chris Kai'aokamalie and MVB Executive Director Terryl Vencl will take the Maui Nui message to the event which pairs sophisticated travel counselors with upscale suppliers such as Maui. These agents hold memberships in top consortias including Amex, Ensemble, Signature Travel Network, Carlson Wagonlit and Virtuoso, and they book $2.1 billion annually in travel. CMI Division Heads to PCMA and MPI PEC
Director of Sales Tom Risko heads to Toronto to attend the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) Convention in January. Risko will meet with convention meeting planners to entice them to the islands of Maui Nui. In cooperation with HVCB, Risko will host a destination dinner for approximately 50 select meeting planners and association executives. In January, Risko heads to New Orleans for the Meeting Planners International Professional Education Conference. He expects to visit with numerous meeting and incentive travel planners. "Malama Maui" PR Campaign to Highlight Islands' Cuisine
As part of its "Malama Maui -- Preserving Maui's Agricultural & Cultural Resources" initiative, MVB's public relations division will move in to the next phase of the campaign focusing on cuisine and island-grown products. During the first quarter of 2007, the campaign will focus on "mom & pop" restaurants, local bakeries and eateries and "Made-in-Maui Nui" products.
