• Kahe Wale Monthly E-newsletter – 89%
• Bi-Weekly Tourism Industry Update – 88%
• Communicating with our Public Relations Division – 77%
Regarding the Kahe Wale newsletter, nearly a fifth of respondents indicated that they use the recently introduced “Quickview” version. We’re happy to know that new features or functionality that we introduce are being well received by the members.
Members also evaluated the value of being listed in the Bureau’s various consumer and travel trade publications. Nearly 77% agreed that publication listings are valuable. The highest ranked publication is the Islands of Aloha, The Official Vacation Planner (80%), which targets leisure travelers.
When asked to comment about the importance of being listed on the Bureau’s websites, nearly 89% of the members indicated that a website link and listing on HVCB Central’s (90%) and the Island Chapter’s (87%) websites are highly valuable as HVCB membership benefits.
In terms of convention level benefits, nearly three-quarters of the respondents surveyed feel that these benefits are of high importance and stated that having their company listed in the annual Meeting Planner’s Guide is valuable to their company – a 25% increase from last year’s
survey.
Members also commented on the Membership Website – www.hvcb.org/membership – as an informational tool. Last year, only a third of respondents had viewed the site within the last six months; this year the number was almost 70%. In addition to updating their contact and marketing content information, reasons for visiting the site included getting information about HVCB events; gathering information on new programs and/or services; and to find out “What’s new with Membership.”
Nearly half of respondents find value in the added-value services offered to members. Of particular interest are additional category listings on GoHawaii.com (55%) and advertising opportunities in our Islands of Aloha Express or Expressly for Travel Professionals newsletters (45%). For more information on how you can take advantage of these enhancements to your membership, please visit http://www.hvcb.org/membership/enhance.htm or call the Membership department at (808) 923-1811.
Again, a special mahalo to all of our members that participated in the annual Membership Benefits Survey. Your time and comments are truly appreciated.
