"Malama Maui" Captures Koa Anvil
With Director Kelii Brown at the helm, MVB’s Public Relations and Promotions Division takes the Maui Nui message on the road this fall. Last month, MVB blitzed Toronto and New York City. In November, cities include Boston, Chicago, Denver and Phoenix. MVB, along with various hotel and resort partners, will meet with top writers and editors of numerous publications as well as freelance writers in each market. Also, MVB's "Malama Maui -- Preserving Maui's Agricultural & Cultural Resources" public relations campaign captured first place honors with a prestigious Koa Anvil (Marketing Consumer Services - Government Division) from the Hawaii Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. The initiative targets travel writers, editors and broadcast media. "Malama Maui" is designed to reposition Maui Nui by highlighting various ag-tourism, culture and ecology offerings with fresh perspectives and angles to entice media coverage.
