Description

Those units were made up primarily of Americans of Japanese ancestry. Hundreds of them were among the Americans who answered the call to arms on Oahu on December 7, 1941. Yet the Pearl Harbor attack triggered racial hysteria against Japanese Americans and the forcible evacuation and imprisonment of thousands. The AJA soldiers of the 100th, 442nd, MIS and 1399th answered with unsurpassed service and sacrifice. After the war, they helped change Hawaii and America. Free and discounted tickets are available to Pearl Harbor Survivors, World War II veterans, and their families. For information about obtaining these free or discounted tickets, please contact the 75th Commemoration toll-free (U.S. and Canada) at 1-877-589-8898, direct at 1-808-589-5592, or via e-mail at info@pearlharbor75thanniversary.com.11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Hawaii Convention Center.
