Description

Opening night festivities annually attract thousands of visitors and residents. The Mayor will kick off the holiday season with the official tree lighting ceremony featuring a 50-foot holiday tree on the lawn fronting of Honolulu Hale.4 p.m. Food booths and keiki rides open6 p.m. Mayor’s tree lighting ceremony begins on steps of Honolulu Hale. The Electric Light Parade leaves Aala Park and proceeds down King Street to Honolulu Hale.6:30 p.m. A 50-foot Norfolk tree is illuminated, triggering the “corridor of lights” down King and Punchbowl streets. Decorated trees and wreath displays open in Honolulu Hale Courtyard.Santa visits with children in the Mission Memorial Auditorium. Honolulu Hale Courtyard will be opened along with a display of Christmas trees decorated by City employees and a public wreath contest in the Lane Gallery. The Electric Light Parade will pass by Honolulu Hale after traveling through Chinatown.
