SNORKEL Honaunau Bay
Hawaii, the Big Island, is the largest of the Hawaiian Islands. Powerful and growing, it possesses a raw majesty you can feel in your bones. In the azure waters of Honaunau Bay, the underwater residents tease your curiosity. Your adventure has begun.
A Cultural AWAKENING
History is alive on Hawaii Island. At Puuhonua O Honaunau, stepping back in time is as simple as crossing a threshold. Try your hand at a game of konane or talk to a kupuna, an elder. In this place of refuge you may find your own new beginning.
VISITING Sea Turtles
Expect the unexpected on Hawaii Island. Away from the crowds, Punaluu Black Sand Beach is a favorite hangout for endangered green sea turtles. Although you’re not allowed to go near them, they’re not the least bit camera shy.
Exploring a VOLCANO
Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is home to Pele, Hawaii’s powerful goddess of volcanoes. This is revered land, rich in lore, with over 23,000 petroglyphs (images carved in stone). Spend a day. Maybe more. With so much to see you’ll want to take your time.
NIGHT at Halemaumau
Come for the day. Stay for the show. As the sun sets, follow the steam to Halemaumau Crater. At night, the magic begins with the power of nature’s fire contrasted against the twinkling diamonds of the Milky Way.
