HANALEI

KAUAI

Peaceful Hanalei is a small town of co-existing contrasts. Here you’ll find new-age artists and salt-of-the-earth farmers. Wide-eyed vacationers and laid-back locals. Surfers, shopkeepers, and even the occasional movie star.

Browse the galleries looking for stylish, tropical fashion and art objects carved in rare native Hawaiian woods. Hang out at a sidewalk table while cooling off with a refreshing "shave ice" in flavors like coconut or lychee.

Pack up a picnic and venture out to one of Hanalei’s breathtaking beaches. Lumahai Beach is where Mary Martin "washed that man right out of my hair" in South Pacific. Sunday, go to Waioli Huiia Church and listen to Hawaiian hymns. After a busy day, kick back, relax, and watch a luminous sunset over Hanalei Bay.
