UKULELE CONCERTS

Locals and tourists alike come to Hanalei town to hear the sweet sounds of ukulele concerts. The ukulule, which evokes so much about Hawaii, was actually brought to Hawaii by Portuguese immigrants in the 1800’s. The big music made from this small instrument will surprise you.
Pick up your own ukulele at one of the island’s shops for your trip home. And be sure to take home some Hawaiian music CDs so you can remember your visit to Kauai. Look for artists like Eddie Kamae and Gabby Pahinui, two of the all-time greats.
