PALAWAI BASIN, LANAI
The fertile Palawai Basin was once the location of one of the world's largest pineapple plantations. Now it is used primarily for grazing, and this large open plain is home to towering pine trees and open views. Millions of years ago, a single volcano created the island of Lanai. Palawai Basin is all that remains of this ancient volcano. This is a great place to take a break when you're out exploring the island.
