Marie Cassel is the owner of Sweet Marie's Hawaii INC., Hawaii's first 100% dedicated gluten - free bakery and restaurant, located on the beautiful Garden Island of Kauai.Marie was the first baker to offer gluten free wedding cakes. Other delicacies include: breadcrumb free turkey meatloaf, shoyu chicken made with wheat free shoyu, pizza featuring a crust made without gluten, soy, dairy or eggs, and white liliko'i cake with white chocolate lilko'i mousse.
Marie became motivated to help people with celiac disease after being diagnosed with the ailment herself. Marie finds that nurturing and accommodating people with special dietary needs can be extremely rewarding. Marie was nominated in 2012 as Small Business Person of the Year. Marie pursued and obtained a culinary arts degree from UCLA. She complements this impressive profile with an equally commendable array of humanitarian undertakings and through support of various organizations that benefit the arts.
