The sounding of the pu, or conch, signals the royal court’s arrival adorned in the colors and clothing of ancient royalty, or Ali‘i. Guests are serenaded by with sounds of the ‘ukulele and melodic steel guitar, while hula dancers showcase the dances of both ancient and modern Hawaii. It’s a feast fit for a king with traditional Hawaiian foods like kalua pork, a specialty prepared in an imu, or traditional underground oven.
