Description

Paradise Helicopters is a locally-owned and operated helicopter tour company offering air adventures departing from Kona, Hilo, and Oahu. Whether you dream of doors off tours over Kilauea volcano, descending into a Kona coffee farm or soaring over green sand beaches, our helicopter tours, exclusive landings, air and land adventures and custom charters are crafted to immerse our guests in the awe-inspiring natural beauty of Hawaii and to create memories that will last a lifetime.

Here are a few of our featured tours departing from Hawai‘i Island:

Circle Island Experience
Hawai‘i Island really is a “Big Island” and you want to see it all! Why spend your whole vacation in the car, when you can get the lay of the land by air? Paradise’s Circle Island Experience is the only helicopter tour in Hawai‘i that ventures south to encompass the entire island, and it does so in just over two hours!
You’ll be amazed by our exclusive views of Mauna Loa, Punalu‘u and Papakōlea – one of only four green sand beaches in the world! Next, explore the lava flow activity at Kīlauea crater and, if Madame Pele is willing, catch a glimpse of the molten heart of Hawai‘i in the form of red, hot lava. Then, turn to the east, the island’s lush windward side and Hilo town. Notice how now water flows where lava once did, gushing out of sheer cliffs through lava tubes, creating hundreds of waterfalls, and nourishing the rich vegetation. The grandeur of the Kohala valleys and waterfalls of the north are sure to catch your breath, as are the white sand beaches on your return to Kona.

The Sunset Experience
The Sunset Experience is the perfect way to cap off a day in paradise. You’ll find gorgeous beaches tucked away below lava fields along the Kona and Kohala Coasts. Next, you’ll venture to the far side of the Kohala Mountains, where a secluded and nearly inaccessible series of valleys awaits. Next, crest Mauna Loa, the world’s largest volcano, most recently active just 30 years ago. With the sun now behind the mountain, you’ll be able to better spot the glowing lava, as well as the magma lake within Halema‘uma‘u Crater. You’ll see Punalu‘u black sand beach and Papakōlea green sand beach and pass over Pu‘uhonua ‘o Hōnaunau and Kealakekua Bay.

Volcano by Air & Land
Paradise Helicopters’ Volcano by Air & Land tour allows you to explore the Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park area in flight and on foot – including sinking your toes into a beautiful black sand beach and sipping on award-winning coffee. Overfly the world-famous Kona coffee district and skirt three of Hawai‘i’s towering volcanoes: Hualālai, Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa en route to the volcano. Upon arrival to Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park, your pilot will search out the day’s lava activity. After the first part of your “air” experience, you will land in Hilo and meet your expert Hawaii Forest & Trail interpretive guide. Travel through the remote and rugged landscape of Kaʻū — home to Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park, historic farming plantations and the famous black sand beach of Punaluʻu. The perfect blend of nature and culture led by an expert interpretive guide, this tour reveals what it’s like to live on two active volcanoes. Back in the air, you’ll take the leisurely route to Kona along the eastern and northern coasts. You will venture deep into uninhabited valleys that showcase Hawai‘i’s wild, untamed beauty. Finally, watch the landscape shift again, as you fly over Pololū Valley, south to Kawaihae and over beautiful white and black sand beaches to make your way down the coastline and return to the Kona Airport in time to enjoy one of Hawai‘i’s famed sunsets.
