Experience "real Hawaii." Journey back a century, come explore a sugar plantation village and botanical garden featuring historic homes and plants reflecting the cultural diversity of the islands. At our living history museum you will hear personal stories of struggle and triumph revealing how plantation laborers from China, Portugal, Japan, Puerto Rico, Okinawa, Korea, and the Philippines ventured to Hawaii in search of a better future. By adapting and blending their way of life, these pioneers together with the Native Hawaiians created a new, thriving multi-ethnic society. Take this journey into the past with inspiring lessons for the future. Guided tours provided hourly. Japanese speaking guides available upon request. While you're here, come check out our gift shop featuring one-of-a-kind handmade crafts, plantation toys, books, music and more!
