LAHAINA LUAU

LAHAINA, MAUI

Sunset is the perfect time for a traditional Hawaiian luau on the shores of Lahaina. Dine on kalua pig cooked in an imu (earth oven), haupia (coconut pudding), and poi (Hawaiian taro starch). Then settle down under the stars while you listen to live music and watch skilled performances of the hula. Some luau showcase dances from across Polynesia as well, like the frenetic Tahitian and the thrilling Samoan fire-knife dance.

The Old Lahaina Luau offers a popular sunset feast right off of Front Street. The Feast at Lele offers a gourmet luau, pairing wines with creative interpretations of traditional Hawaiian and Polynesian food. North of Lahaina in the Kaanapali area, the Royal Lahaina Resort Luau also presents a seaside show by sunset. No visit to Maui is complete without experiencing a luau in historic old Lahaina.
