Molokaʻi Farms & Gardens

Molokaʻi’s natural beauty offers a variety of places to learn about Hawaiʻi’s special flora. Taste local beans at the Coffees of Hawaiʻi plantation store, stock up on fresh produce at Kumu Farms or visit Purdy’s Natural Macadamia Nut Farm in Central Molokaʻi. Or, explore the 2,774-acre Kamakou Preserve, run by the Nature Conservancy and home to more than 250 rare Hawaiian plants. If you’re lucky you may even spot the olomaʻo or the kākāwahie, two birds nearing extinction. Contact the Nature Conservancy for more information about seasonal guided tours of Kamakou, which help protect the sensitive environment.
