As the legendary birthplace of hula, it's fitting that Molokai has many cultural events that have ancient Hawaiian traditions at their center. The annual Molokai Ka Hula Piko in May draws the state's premier hula troupes and the Molokai Hoe, a 41-mile canoe race to Waikiki on Oahu, begins at Hale O Lono Point.
