Description
The traditional Hawaiian fine art of hula has become very popular world wide and especially in Japan, where there are more than 200,000 practitioners of this time-honored dance. The Pan-Pacific Hula Festival provides a dream opportunity for many of these groups who practice all year long, in anticipation of dancing the hula in Hawaii.
You will see hula groups from across Japan performing their interpretation of the hula on stage. There will also be a special exhibition performance by local halau, Halau O Napuala Ikauika Iu led by Kumu Hula Sally Yoza. Held under a majestic banyan tree with beautiful Waikiki Beach just steps away, dancers and spectators alike will truly enjoy a warm and breezy Hawaiian evening of friendly competition among hula enthusiasts!
