Bay View Golf Park
Oahu
Description
Bay View Golf Park underwent a redesign and rebuilding in the mid-1990s. This Oahu golf course re-opened its new Robin Nelson design in 1997. It is known for being the perfect course for working on your short game, features a single double green, and is even open for night play weeknights.
If the weather is great and it usually is the view from the par-3 at No. 14 is more than worth the price of admission, with its commanding view of Chinaman's Hat to the far north in Kaneohe Bay. The front nine incorporates much of the land from the original layout, which was built in the 1960s. However, it is the back nine that offers a number of engaging holes. The 11th and 12th holes may be the toughest back-to-back par-4s of any Oahu golf course, and are certainly the narrowest.
The par-4 at No. 15 features a water carry to an elevated green carved out of the hillside, while the 16th is a massive downhill par-3 with water right and even more danger at left over the hill. Bay View closes with an all-carry par-3 across a wetland to a shallow but wide green protected by a huge mound at its center.
