Description

Wedged into 135 acres of Ekahanui Gulch between former pineapple cane plantation lands on the elevated central plain of Oahu, Hawaii Country Club is a local-style course that offers a good variety of short par-4 and engaging par-3 holes. Once one of the very few courses in West Oahu, the Hawaii Country Club layout sits at the north end of the Fort Weaver Road/Kunia Highway corridor which now features six golf courses along its route and four more close by.

Monkey pod trees abound, as do views to the east of the Koolau Mountains and the nearby Waianae range to the west. This Oahu golf course's unique holes present themselves immediately with the par-4 first hole, which is reachable from the tee. Playing just over 270 yards to a slightly elevated green from an even more elevated tee box, hit it straight and avoid the bunker at front and you'll be in for a singular treat.

The finishing hole, another par-4, measures less than 240 yards and plays uphill, including a blind approach. While the routing dates back to the late 1950s, Hawaii's most prolific course architect, Robin Nelson, redesigned the 16th and 17th holes in 1998.
