Situated a mile inland from the wide beaches of Waianae on a gradually elevated valley floor surrounded on three sides by imposing 2,000-foot cliffs, this classic track is a must play for golfers who love to play engaging golf courses in beautiful settings.

This Oahu golf course offers greens that are among the fastest anywhere. A huge rock formation down on the beach is visible from most putting surfaces at Makaha, and smart golfers use this distant landmark to help read the break of their putt. Given the subtle rolling topography of the course itself, golfers often experience the illusion that their putts are breaking uphill. Given their exposed settings, this anomaly is particularly true on the par-4s at the 13th and 15th greens.
