WAIMEA VALLEY AUDUBON CENTER
Tucked away in Waimea Valley, the North Shore's Waimea Valley Audubon Center is home to world-class botanical gardens and nearly 5,000 species of plants. The center aims to conserve and restore 1,800 acres of Waimea's natural ecosystems.
Waimea Valley was once a thriving taro producing area for ancient Hawaiians. Now the valley is open to the general public and visitors can hike the 3.5 miles to the beautiful 40-foot Waihi Falls (also known as Waimea Falls). With a lifeguard on duty, you can end your tour of Waimea's rainforests and botanical gardens with a refreshing dip in the pool below the waterfall.
