Die Kona Coast ist Hawaiis Mekka für Hochseefischer. Nicht weit von der Küste der Insel entfernt fällt der Meeresgrund hier hunderte von Metern in die Tiefe ab. Ausgangspunkt für Chartertouren ist Honokohau Harbor zwischen dem Flughafen Kona und der Stadt Kona. Das tiefe Gewässer ist bekannt für seine großen Marline, die teilweise mehr als 450 kg auf die Waage bringen, und trägt deshalb den Spitznamen „Grander Alley“. Zahlreiche Sportfische tummeln sich in dem Gebiet, darunter Indopazifische Blaue Marline, Fächerfische, sowie Schwarze und Gestreifte Marline. Ono, Mahimahi und Thunfisch gehören ebenfalls zum Tagesfang.
