Hanohano O Kona (honoring Kona) Lecture

How do you clean and store precious family photos, documents and heirlooms? Bring questions to “Care of Family Treasures” on Wednesday, August 31, when Kona Historical Society presents Malia Van Heukelem. Malia has worked with art and artifacts of all shapes and sizes as collections manager for the State Foundation on Culture and the Arts' Art in Public Places Program and Iolani Palace, and currently as preservation management specialist with the University of Hawaii's Hamilton Library. The 2016 community cultural and historical lecture series, spotlighting local and state speakers, is held at the West Hawaii Civic Center the last Wednesday of each month from 5:30 pm-7:00 pm. Presented by Kona Historical Society, in cooperation with Hawaii County, this free, public series is a gift from the Society to the community. For more information call 808-323-3222 or visit www.konahistorical.org. This lecture is generously sponsored by Kona Frame Shop and supported by West Hawai’i Today.
