Description

Hui o Laka presents the 29th Annual Emalani Festival Kauai (Eo e Emalani i Alakai Festival) on Saturday, October 14 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the lush expanse of the Kanaloahuluhulu Meadow in Kokee State Park. One of the island’s most popular and authentic Hawaiian cultural events, the Emalani Festival Kauai is a day of song, hula, history and pageantry, celebrating Hawaii’s beloved Queen Emma and recalling her journey to the Kokee uplands and Kilohana vista in 1871. Queen Emma will enter the meadow on horseback at 11 a.m. Exhibits, craft tables, silent auction, and a snack shop enhance the festival experience. Carpooling is recommended as parking is limited. Bring your own blankets or chairs (no tents or coolers). Animals are not permitted in state parks. Admission is free and all are welcome to join in the festivities. For more information, visit www.kokee.org or call (808) 335-9975.
