Description

The Japan-America Society of Hawaii (JASH) will be hosting a luncheon and lecture by business risk consultant Grant Newsham on the yakuza (Japanese organized crime) and their involvement in Japanese society, government, and business on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Ala Moana Hotel from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Newsham is a senior research fellow at the Japan Forum for Strategic Studies in Tokyo and specializes in organized crime threats to private companies. He lived in Japan for more than 20 years, served as a U.S. diplomat and spent more than a decade with a major American financial firm where he is credited with fending off risk-threats to companies.
