Description

The Parade of Farms is back for a second year with a spotlight on the North Shore of Oahu in Waialua. The day-long event, which is presented by Oahu Resource Conservation and Development Council, is set for Saturday, May 6, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. A free open house of activities will be hosted at the Waialua Sugar Mill and will include informational booths about local farming initiatives. Eventgoers can also choose to take short tours of agribusinesses located in and around the Sugar Mill. A farmer’s market packed with fresh produce from local farms and businesses will be up and running until 12:30 p.m. Tickets may also be reserved to attend in-depth farm tours that will provide a “behind-the-scenes” look into the business of farming. Locals and visitors alike will gain a unique perspective on agriculture initiatives taking place on the North Shore of Oahu. The farm tour schedule and costs will be announced online at www.parade-of-farms.org in March.
