Halekulani Masterworks: Kennard Plays Liszt
The Washington Post wrote of his “powerful and involved music making” and described him as “a strong luminous pianist.” American Record Guide said that he “plays Chopin’s preludes with more poise and vision than most pianists who have recorded them. He boasts a huge, romantic sound and a bold melodic vision.” Fanfare wrote that “his playing is full of life and sparkle.” The HSO is extremely pleased to host pianist Sean Kennard in a Halekulani Masterworks program that includes Wagner's Overture to "Rienzi" Liszt's Piano Concerto No. 1, and Sibelius's Symphony No. 5. Maestro Ward Stare will conduct this stunning program! Tickets begin at $34. Student rush ($13) and active military tickets ($20) are available beginning November 7 with valid ID.
