Kilauea Lodge

The Lodge serves as an excellent base for exploring the southern portion of the Big Island. From Punaluu, home to honuea (green sea turtles) to lower Puna with its newest black sand beach and wild jungles, to Hilo's historic plantation character...all are easy day trips from the Lodge. Volcano's rain forest is home to the apapane birds, endemic to Hawaii. They can often be viewed from the lanai of our Common Room. Earlier it served as an YMCA camp for hundreds of Hawaii's youngsters. Today, Hawaiian hospitality reigns as dedicated staff care for guests with kamaaina graciousness.
