Community Caring Day at Lawai International Center - 1st Saturday of every Month

Lawai International Center is sparkling from the caring hands of helpful volunteers. Please join us as we nurture the grounds and plant orchids together on every first Saturday of the month from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Lunches made by the aunties of Lawai will be served. Bring the following items if you have them, otherwise, we have extra tools: 1. Hand gardening tools (garden gloves, light hand weeders, clippers, sickles, and rakes) 2. Weed Wackers, hedge trimmers, brush cutters. If you will be able to join us, please email [email protected] or call 808-639-5952. Thank you for your dear commitment to the center. With Heartfelt Gratitude, Lynn and the Lawai International Center Family, [email protected], www.lawaicenter.org

Note:  Visitors to Kauai are always welcome to join us.

Lawai International Center, a non-profit community project, is an archaeological and cultural treasure in a valley that has long been recognized as a healing sanctuary. In 1904 the first generation of Japanese immigrants built 88 shrines replicating an ancient pilgrimage of 88 temples in Shikoku, Japan. Today, it is the only such site existing outside of Japan and is one of the oldest Buddhist temple sites in the country. Volunteers are bringing these shrines and this valley back to prominence as an international center for compassion, education, and cultural understanding.

Support provided by Hawaii Tourism Authority through the Community Enrichment Program.
