Ulana Lauhala: Ornaments for the Holidays!
Come spread joy one holiday ornament at a time as we create our own lauhala holiday ornaments with Keanahala. This special workshop would be a great opportunity for those interested in learning the art of traditional lauhala weaving, ulana lauhala.
Keanahala is a community weaving program of Puʻuhonua Society that perpetuates the native Hawaiian practice of ulana lauhala, pandanus weaving; focusing on weaving as well as learning about and participating in the entire process including harvesting, prepping, and weaving.
Due to the limited supplies we are restricting the amount of attendees for this program to 15 people. Registration is requried and will be based on a first come-first serve basis. To register, please stop by the reference desk, or call the library at: (808)733-8422.
Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged, but not required. All programs are subject to change. See a schedule of upcoming events at librarieshawaii.org/events.
