Molokaʻi Water Activities
The waters around Molokaʻi are among the richest in the Pacific. Aside from having some of the more deserted beaches in Hawaiʻi (there’s a reason travelers from every island often head here when they want to “get away”), Molokaʻi is a welcome paradise for anglers and divers wishing to explore the living aquarium just beneath the water’s surface.
Take a sport-fishing charter from Kaunakakai, or whale watch in the Kalohi Channel during the winter months. Kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding are also amazing off Molokaʻi’s pristine shores. Sprawling Pāpōhaku Beach is ideal for a dip in the calmer summer months, while Kūmimi Beach (also known as 20 Mile Marker Beach) is known for its great, easy-to-access snorkeling.
Molokaʻi is also home to Hawaiʻi’s longest continuous fringing reef, at 28 miles long. Natural “finger” coral and stony coral harbor honu (green sea turtles), Hawaiian monk seals and a swirling rainbow of reef fish, making for fantastic snorkeling and scuba diving.
