Details
The Polynesian Cultural Center’s “Rainbows of Paradise” canoe pageant begins with a young Polynesian woman in an outrigger canoe tossing flowers into the lagoon, a tradition reminiscent of days when great steamships transported visitors to these magical islands. It was said in those days that each blossom became a memory of visits to Hawaii; and if the blossoms returned to shore, so would the visitors. Performed atop outrigger canoes in PCC’s lagoon, dancers and musicians from six island nations – Hawai‘i, Aotearoa (New Zealand), Fiji, Tahiti, Tonga and Samoa – share songs, dances and stories of their respective island homelands. The canoe pageant is performed daily from 2:30 - 3:00 p.m. The PCC is open Monday through Saturday from 11:45 a.m. to 9 p.m. Packages start at $69.95.
