Hānaiakamalama

Take the drive from Honolulu into the lush Nuʻuanu Valley to discover the Hānaiakamalama. Known in Hawaiian as Hānaiakamalama, this was the secluded summer retreat of Queen Emma, King Kamehameha IV and their son, Prince Albert. This special museum is on the National Historic Registry and houses a collection of Queen Emma’s belongings as well as royal antiques, furnishings and memorabilia. If you continue further up the Pali Highway you can also experience the amazing view from the Nuʻuanu Pali Lookout.
