Jährliche Veranstaltungen

Viele der schönsten Feste von Hawaii finden jährlich statt. Einige Veranstaltungen, wie der Honolulu Marathon (Dezember) und das Hawaii International Film Festival (Oktober) locken Besucher und Teilnehmer aus der ganzen Welt nach Hawaii. Andere wiederum, darunter die Prince Lot Hula Competition auf Oahu (Juli) oder das Eo E Emalani I Alakai Festival (Oktober) auf Kauai und die landesweite King Kamehameha Celebration (Juni) werden überwiegend von Einheimischen besucht. Diese Veranstaltungen sind insbesondere für Reisende interessant, die während ihres Aufenthalts authentische Einblicke in die hawaiianische Kultur erhalten möchten.


Gourmetfestivals

Veranstaltungen rund um die lokale Küche und landwirtschaftliche Produkte sind sowohl unter Einheimischen als auch Besuchern beliebt. Das Hawaii Food and Wine Festival auf den Inseln Hawaii Island, Maui und Oahu (Oktober) und das Kapalua Wine & Food Festival (Juni) auf Maui sind kulinarische Veranstaltungen mit einer langen Tradition und Tausenden von Besuchern, bei denen sich weltberühmte Köche, Winzer und Meistersommeliers die Ehre geben. Das Annual Kona Coffee Cultural Festival (November) auf Hawaii Island feiert die Kaffeekultur und umfasst knapp 50 Veranstaltungen, die in einem Zeitraum von 10 Tagen stattfinden. Das Kauai Chocolate & Coffee Festival (Oktober) steht ganz im Zeichen der Kakao- und Kaffeespezialitäten von Kauai.
