Hilo Harbor Greetings

Destination Hilo provides information, music and hula at the port of Hilo for arriving cruise passengers and crew. At our information center in the Pier 1 terminal building, guests may find maps, bus schedules, literature about sites on the Island of Hawaiʻi, and independent tour information. Talk to the knowledgeable Aloha Ambassadors if you have a question, want directions, or want recommendations for what to see on the East side of Hawaiʻi Island. 

We are open from 8 a.m. to 12 noon on days that cruise ships arrive at the port of Hilo. This could vary depending on arrival times. In addition, a hālau will often perform hula to welcome our visitors.

Destination Hilo is a non-profit organization that seeks to provide a warm welcome and unique, authentic Hawaiian experiences for our visitors. We are grateful to the Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority and Kilohana by Hawaiian Council for supporting our programs.
