When sugar ended in 1996, Kaʻū farmers stepped into an uncertain future and built a new agricultural identity from the ground up. Over the past 25+ years, they have protected their lands, strengthened their farms, and created a world‑recognized coffee origin rooted in community and stewardship. Today, agritourism is becoming an important part of sustaining that legacy — offering visitors a chance to experience Kaʻū in a way that is authentic, grounded, and respectful of place.
