Ēwe Hānau o ka ʻĀina: Natives of This Land

Did you know that only 5% of the native forests in the region surrounding the Kea Lani remain? Fairmont Kea Lani has partnered with Uhiwai O Haleakalā to invite you to explore the history, biodiversity, culture, and practices that make Maui so unique. Learn about these precious native ecosystems, and contribute to their restoration and preservation through meaningful, hands-on learning opportunities with experts.

Experiences may include processing native seed, crafting seed balls for restoration, transplanting and plant propagation techniques, and art activities using material from native plants. Learn about the importance of ecology and the role native species play as the foundation for culture, freshwater availability, food production, recreation, and so much more. Families are welcome to participate! All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Held every 2nd Tuesday of each month from September to December, 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM.
