Celebrate Earth Day! Coastal Restoration Work Days with Mālama Pūpūkea-Waimea

Join us as we help our fragile reefs by reducing coral-killing erosion! We’ll be removing invasive weeds from our Native Hawaiian Plant Coastal Restoration Project, planting Native Hawaiian coastal plants, repairing rope borders & signage, maintaining paths, picking up rubbish, and more.

Corals need sunlight to be healthy. Erosion causes sedimentation that smothers coral reefs. By planting and maintaining Native Hawaiian coastal plants, we help reduce erosion which increases coral health!

Please pre-register for one or more days by visiting the link in our bio https://forms.gle/q6SrSxqTsoiTpycg9

Time: 8:30am-10:30am
Location: Kapo’o (Sharks Cove) Pūpūkea Beach Park

Everyone is welcome — no experience needed! Gloves and tools are provided (or you can bring your own).
Wear covered shoes, long sleeves, and bring sun protection (mineral sunscreen only) and water.

Healthy coral reefs are habitats for marine life, provide food for us, protect our shorelines from impacts, cause waves to barrel, and so much more! Come help us make a difference!
