Native Hawaiian Plant Coastal Restoration with Mālama Pūpūkea-Waimea

ALOHA!!

Make a real difference for Hawaiʻi's ocean ecosystem by joining monthly volunteer work days with Mālama Pūpūkea-Waimea. This hands-on conservation experience focuses on protecting coral reefs and our island's shorelines through native plant restoration at the beautiful Kapo'o (Sharks Cove) area.

Participants will help remove invasive weeds, plant native coastal species, maintain trails and protective borders, replace fencing and signage, and clean up the restoration site. All while learning why healthy coral reefs matter—they provide marine habitats, food sources, wave breaks, and natural shoreline protection for the islands.

Event Details:

  • Time: 8:30–10:30 a.m. (monthly sessions throughout 2026)
  • Location: Kapo'o (Sharks Cove), Pūpūkea Beach Park, Haleiwa
  • What's provided: Gloves and tools
  • What to bring: Covered shoes, long sleeves, sun protection, and water

Pre-registration is required. Register here to secure a spot. Whether an experienced volunteer or first-time participant, all skill levels are welcome to help preserve Hawaiʻi's natural treasures.
