Details
Tiki's Grill & Bar is a locally owned, hip, casual, retro South Pacific-style restaurant featuring nightly entertainment, local contemporary musicians, and weekly hula dancers. Tiki's menu features tastes of the Islands with a balance of casual American dining and Pacific-Rim fare, and also has an affordable children's or Keiki menu with local and mainland favorites. Whether it's a sandwich and cold beer, fresh seafood and glass of wine, or a refreshing tropical drink such as the signature 1944 Mai Tai paired with a beautiful tropical sunset, Tiki's has something on the menu for everyone. Tiki's was started in 2002 by three friends from the University of Hawaii (UH Manoa) who wanted to open a restaurant where they could hang out and bring their friends and family. It's remained a place where locals can not only enjoy great food and views while "playing tourist" but is also a favorite spot for them to bring their out-of-town visitors who are looking for the quintessential Hawaiiana-tiki bar experience. Conveniently located in the Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel near the Honolulu Zoo, Tiki's is easily accessible from any location around Waikiki and Honolulu and offers elevator access to its 3rd-floor perch on the oceanfront side of the hotel. For guests who valet with the hotel, Tiki's validates for the first 3 hours free. Tiki's award-winning kitchen is helmed by Executive Chef Ronnie Nasuti. After a proven record of successful and distinguished accomplishments, Chef Ronnie chose to hang his hat at Tiki’s nearly a decade ago, steering the already-popular destination to a higher level of dining and excellence. Chef Ronnie believes in the farm-to-table movement by visiting farms and building strong bonds with local farmers such as Mari's Gardens, Kunia Country Farm, and Nalo Farms, that pioneered the local produce movement; in addition to bringing in fresh island produce and breads, Chef Ronnie orders 175 pounds of local grass-fed beef, venison from Maui Nui Venison, and 450 pounds of locally caught or raised fish and seafood such as Ahi and Mahi every week. His delicious signature items and dinner specials that fuse Hawaiian/Pacific Island with American cuisine are the result of his dedication to the craft and cooking with locally grown and raised food. A familiar face in Hawaii’s culinary scene, Chef Ronnie is a regular guest on Hawaii News Now's morning “Kitchen Creations” segment. He also represents Tiki’s at multiple charitable events each year including: the Hawaii Foodbank's Great Chefs Fight Hunger gala; Kick Start, a charity for underprivileged kids to compete in Karate competitions on the mainland; Cheer for Champions fundraiser benefitting the Special Olympics; Localicious with the Hawaii Agricultural Foundation (HAF); Dazzle for Central Union Preschool (CUPS); Empty Bowl Hawaii for Aloha Harvest; Mangoes at the Moana at the historic Moana Hotel; Webco Golf Tournament to benefit St. Louis High School; Executive Women International's (EWI) scholarship golf tournament; Flavors by the Bay for the Kama'aina Kids community service organization; events to benefit the University of Hawaii, the Waikiki Aquarium, the Hawaii Tourism and Lodging Association (HLTA) at the State Capitol, the Global Tourism Summit at the Hawaii Convention Center; and many more. Chef Ronnie is also passionate about sharing his love for the culinary field with the next generation of professional local chefs, and supports the efforts and students of the Hawaii Culinary Education Foundation, the Culinary Institute of the Pacific, Leeward Culinary School, Palama Settlement, Pearl City High School and more through events and fundraisers. Tiki’s Grill & Bar is also a premiere setting for any special group occasion. There are three unique private venue spaces within the restaurant and open-air bar lanai that have gorgeous views and a welcoming, vibrant atmosphere. Tiki’s is a wonderful location for any milestone occasion, from a wedding reception dinner to a welcome party meet-and-greet, corporate event or buyout, birthday, anniversary, graduation, or any other group event. Chef Ronnie's signature private buffet menus offer the same delicious mix of local and mainland favorites to please any palate. The full-service events, catering, and bar staff provide a stress-free, seamless experience from planning to execution.
