Island of Hawaii Deep Sea Fishing

The Pacific Ocean waters just offshore from the island of the Hawaii are a vibrant habitat for a wide range of beautiful and coveted big game fish. Here, you can catch everything from mahimahi to wahoo to skipjack and yellowfin tuna. But these majestic depths are also home to a variety of billfish, including striped marlin, spearfish and the most sought-after trophy of all, blue marlin. In fact, Kona is the home of the Hawaiian International Billfish Tournament, and holds several world records for blue marlin – some weighing more than 1,000 pounds. Though a “grander” is no guarantee, the island’s many fishing guides know exactly where to hunt (and hopefully hook) one of these legendary fighters.

Explore a wide range of fishing charters and tours for groups of all sizes and experience levels. Many guides will even fillet and bag your catch for you to enjoy later. Each fish species in Hawaii has its own season, so check with local tour providers to see what’s swimming during your visit.
