Kona Jazz Experience
The Kona Jazz Experience, a benefit concert for the Aloha Theatre will take place on Sunday, January 18, 2026 at 2:30. The concert will feature Bill Noble Jazz Ensemble: an 8 piece band of horns, rhythm section and vocals, under the inspiring and exciting leadership of Bill Noble. Born and raised in Kohala, Bill is a freelance musician whose career includes appearances with The Temptations, Ray Charles, Gladys Knight, Fifth Dimensions, regular performances at our world class resorts, and many notable private parties, including for two former Presidents.
The opening act will feature Black Moon - an improvisational, groove oriented jazz group, creating music for healing and transformation. Trumpeter and composer Ann Hoku Lyn and guitar/harmonica player Truth Musiq are the foundation of this collective, which feature Reggie Griffin of the Isley Brothers, Russ McKinnon of Tower of Power, and local musicians Binti Bailey on vocals, Jason Sherbundy on keys and Matt Spencer on bass. Black Moon’s music is bluesy, soulful and combines both traditional and modern jazz elements. Special guests will include up and coming youth performers.
The Kona Jazz Experience is sponsored by the generous support of Randy Bohannon. All ticket proceeds will go to the Aloha Theatre to be used for its productions and community education programs.
