Kukui Heiau Community Workday

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
Join us for a day of mālama ʻāina and reconnecting with Wailua's history at the Kukui Heiau Work Day on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM at 410 Papaloa Road.

Come together with community members of all ages to steward our special places. This community day of service and learning is hosted by Pihana Ka ʻIkena in partnership with the Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority. Together, we’ll tend to this sacred site through cleaning, restoration, and education to help nurture both the ʻāina and our shared sense of kuleana (responsibility). 8:15am: arrive, 8:30am protocol, 9-12: worktime, 12-2: lunch and education. Parking along Papaloa Rd or the Kintaro Parking lot area. Use public accessway between Lae Nani Hotel and Kapaa Shores. Heiau is oceanside. You will be asked to fill out waivers for the County of Kauai who is the property owner.

• Water & sunscreen

• Garden gloves & hand tools

• Closed-toe shoes

• A spirit of aloha and learning
