The Hawai‘i Wildlife Center (HWC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and the first organization of its kind to provide state-of-the-art care and rehabilitation for native birds and bats as well as comprehensive wildlife rescue training and public education and outreach programs. HWC is a professional organization that focuses on treating and rehabilitating sick, injured and oiled native wildlife for release back into the wild and engaging the public in wildlife conservation efforts. The facility's public area features a science and discovery center and retail store. Public hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission to the Ho‘opulama Science and Discovery Center is free. Donations are welcome. Proceeds from the retail store support HWC's wildlife hospital and rescue efforts.
